Netherlands, Amsterdam

Spend your summer in Amsterdam, a city with world-renowned museums, art galleries, music, opera and theater. Amsterdam is home to the country’s stock exchange, the Dutch National Bank, and many international companies, making it the perfect place abroad to deepen your knowledge of business and communications. Broaden your understanding of the role the Netherlands plays in the global marketplace with courses on sustainable business, contemporary television, or intercultural communication. Courses are taught in English at CIEE Amsterdam and are complemented with immersive co-curricular activities designed to increase intercultural understanding. Amsterdam boasts 180 different nationalities, making it home to one of the most diverse populations in the world.  English is the unofficial second language which makes it easy to navigate the country and daily life.

Amsterdam, the capital city and most populous city of The Netherlands, has a history that dates back to the early 1100s. Known now for its seemingly endless cafes, famous art museums, and nature-focused community, Amsterdam is continuously named one of the happiest cities in the world. This city is home to a museum full of Rembrandt’s art, another with Van Gogh’s, The Anne Frank Huis and many gardens and other museums. For those looking for a city focused on culture, access to parks, lengthy and rich histories, and indulgent food options, Amsterdam is the place for you. Its central location allows for easy and quick travel to countries like France, Germany, Belgium, the UK and Ireland.
