Chulalongkorn University Exchange

Thailand, Bangkok

Explore Southeast Asia while earning academic credit at one of the most prestigious universities in Thailand – Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok! Founded in 1917 by King Chulalongkorn, the university continues to be recognized for excellence around the world. The Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, our partner faculty, is one of the strongest in Asia and highly regarded internationally, both for the strength of its academics and for the success of its students.

Bangkok, the economic and cultural capital of Thailand, is truly spectacular. Home to over eight million people, Bangkok also welcomes more tourists per year than any other city in the world. With countless historic and cultural sites, as well as unique and mouthwatering cuisine (from restaurants and the numerous street food vendors), Thailand’s capital is thriving. The historic Grand Palace and the glittering Buddhist temple Wat Pho evoke Bangkok’s rich traditions, while thriving businesses and new shopping complexes (like Siam Paragon, one of the largest shopping centers in Asia) remind visitors of Bangkok’s economic prowess. If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of downtown, Bangkok’s incredibly busy international airport offers ample flights to explore neighboring countries and cities (as well as many buses and trains to explore more of Thailand).

How will study abroad help you achieve your academic, professional, and personal goals?

All of the business courses are taught in English and are offered through the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy. There may be some non-business courses offered in the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy; however, courses outside of the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy may not be taken. Overall, past participants report being very satisfied with the academics at Chulalongkorn.

International Business majors at the Wisconsin School of Business are required to study abroad for a semester in their Region of Emphasis. This semester program satisfies that requirement for Southeast Asia & Oceania.
