This program will not be accepting applications for Summer 2026.
England, Multiple
Competitive Program: This program can accept a limited number of students each year, and in the past we have received more qualified applicants than available spots. Review of applicants is based on these criteria. You may only have one open application per term, but should have an alternate program in mind in the event that you are not accepted to this program.
The UW-Madison Department of Biochemistry, in partnership with the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS), offers the UW SCORE Summer Research in England and the UW SUPER-G Summer Research in Germany programs to 8-12 undergraduate students. Selected students conduct biological research over the summer in a top-notch laboratory at Oxford or Cambridge University, or the Francis Crick Institute in London. Students selected for the SUPER-G program will be placed at the European Molecular Biology Lab (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany.
Students should apply to the site of their preference, however they may be placed in a different site depending upon their research area and scientist availability.
