Germany, Frankfurt

As the name already implies, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management is proud to be located in Frankfurt am Main. It is the most international city in Germany, the largest financial centre on the continent, the historical city of coronations, the city of Goethe and the home of Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

Spend a semester studying at one of Europe's leading private business schools nestled in the heart of Hessen, Frankfurt. This "triple crowned" business school is accredited by AACSB,  AMBA, and EQUIS. Frankfurt is a multicultural city boasts that nearly one third of it's approximately 740,000 inhabitants hold a non-German passport.

Frankfurt is known as Germany's most international cities with the lowest unemployment rate and one of the youngest average ages. It has a vibrant nightlife and very low crime rates. The infrastracture of the city makes it an easy city to navigate. Public transportation is very convenient but it is also a bicycle-friendly city.

The city provides plenty of opportunities for socialising after work and on the weekends. Taking a walk along Museum Mile, visiting parks, going for bike rides, relaxing on the river Main, going to festivals, visiting the English theatre, or browsing one of the many markets, are just a few of the many things to do in Frankfurt.

The Frankfurt School offers academic and educational programs in finance, economics, and management with courses in business, management, banking, finance, and accounting. As an exchange student at the Frankfurt School, you are eligible to take courses from the 6th and 7th semester of the bachelor programs. The primary language of instruction for courses is English but you also have the option to take an optional German language course. In order to take business courses taught in German, you must have proof of B2 level proficiency.

Courses are called "modules" and each module is worth 6 ECTS, the equivalent of 3 credits at UW-Madison. You will enroll in 12-15 credits while on this program.

If you want to brush up on your German and are studying at the Frankfurt school in the fall, you can take the intensive German class in August before the start of the semester for an additional fee.

One key thing to note about the naming conventions of their semesters, what we call fall semester, they call winter term. Our spring semester is what the Frankfurt School calls a summer term. So as you consult the program pages and take a deeper look at their resources, please keep this in mind.

International Business majors at the Wisconsin School of Business are required to study abroad for a semester in their Region of Emphasis. This semester program satisfies that requirement for Western Europe.
